Our boys and girls teams competed in the four teacher school Cumann na mBunscol football league today. Some great football was on display in both games and the school was well represented by both teams. Well done to all!
The Infant Classroom had great fun making their gifts for Mammy on Friday – we hope all the Mammies liked them!
The walkway resource which was set up in partnership with ‘Get Ireland Walking’ is in full use. The colourful and durable signposts remind us of this facility on the school grounds. The junior classes are using it for movement breaks aiding concentration on return to class while our senior rooms work on their times tables as they walk……and talk.
Our boys and girls teams took part in the Spar 5-a-side soccer competition today at Eany Celtic FC in Inver. Both teams played some great football – even playing through the hailstone showers that descended on them! Well done to everyone who took part today and represented the school.
Junior & Senior Infants took part in Súgradh le Chéile today.
Ag Súgradh le Chéile, or “Playing Together” is a workshop to encourage active play between parents and children. Adults and children took part in a variety of activities including ball games, rhymes and traditional games, and finished off with a healthy snack and well earned cup of tea!

We are covering the gymnastics strand in P.E. at the moment. The pupils of 1st & 2nd Classes are learning how to do their rolls, in P. E. Class.
Our Active School Committee drew up a rota for the use of P.E. Equipment in the playground at lunchtimes.
The Active Agents in each class brought out the equipment every day and ensured that it was brought back inside afterwards. The children had great fun playing with the hoops, beanbags, scoops and balls and their skipping skills have improved immensely!
Mrs Gavigan announced the winner of our Active Flag poster competition at our Active Assembly today, while committee members informed everyone about initiatives such as ‘The Daily Mile’ and ‘Do Your Talking While You’re Walking’.
November 2018 – We had an Active School Flag Assembly to introduce our Active School Committee to everyone. Our Active Agents explained the Active School Flag process to everyone. Lucy got everyone up and active doing jumping jacks and star jumps – well done Lucy!
BECAUSE OUR DIFFERENCES ARE WHAT MAKE US GREAT
March 21st is World Down Syndrome Awareness day and the day is marked by people wearing mismatched socks. We invited all the pupils and staff to wear mismatched socks to school – ‘Because our differences are what make us great’. Ryan and Alana came to school with rice krispie buns for everyone which were made by Ryan and Alana, with the help of Mum Paula and sister Amy. Thank you for the lovely treats!
