The firemen from Donegal Town Fire Station kindly came to the school to talk to the children about fire safety.
The pupils here at St. Naul’s always plant various flowers and vegetables as part of our school garden. This has continued as part of our Green Schools Project on Biodiversity. The children of 3rd & 4th Classes have planted onions, as well as potatoes and strawberries. We are hoping for a big crop!
We had a very active day at school today to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! All the children have been learning Irish and Céilí Dancing for the past week or two and all the new skills learned were put into practice as the children took part in their céilí. We also held our annual parade on the school yard, accompanied by our brilliant musicians. Lots of art and crafts went home, as well as certificates for Seachtain na Gaeilge Well done everyone! As part of our Green Schools Project on Biodiversity, all of our pupils are learning about planting. Our 3rd & 4th Class pupils are very eager in their project work.

The children from 3rd-6th Classes made a much welcomed return to The Diamond in Donegal Town today as the school took part in the carol singing organised by Donegal Town Business Focus Group. Mrs McDaid, as always, was the choir leader and the children represented the school excellently. Well done to all the boys and girls who took part, and thank you to Donegal Town Business Focus Group for the treats for the children after they had finished singing – much appreciated!
Donie from St. Naul’s GAA & LGFA Club came to the school today to start some training with all the classes. We were delighted to welcome Donie back to the school to teach some ball skills.
The children of 3rd & 4th Classes got their hands dirty for Science Week. We were building birds nests using natural materials like twigs, moss, leaves and muck! It was a great way to explore our outdoor environment.
Sam gave a presentation on geology the the children of 3rd & 4th Classes. Well done Sam – it was a very interesting presentation.
