We were delighted to be able to officially open our artificial playground this morning, with guests of honour Brendan McCole and Gavin Mulreany – past pupils and members of the Donegal County GAA Senior Panel. We were also happy to welcome Cllrs. Noel Jordan, Michael Naughton and Tom Conaghan, who were all supporters of our fundraising to build our new facility. Our thanks to our parents and the whole school community for all their hard work in getting us to this stage – amenities like this would not be possible without the continued support we receive locally. A big well done to all the children who provided music and singing for the audience – they have been working very hard recently and, as always, represented the school very well.
3rd and 4th Classes learned all about the Titanic and made replicas using recycled materials as part of STEM projects.
As we celebrated the feast of St. Brigid this week, the annual making of the crosses took place. Great work by everyone!
Not much of a snow covering here in Inver but we made the most of what we had!
3rd & 4th Classes had fun making 3D shapes out of lollipop sticks and Blutak. Some good examples of cuboids and square based pyramids.
We were delighted this morning when Santa decided to pop in to the school to see everyone. He very kindly brought all the children a little gift and reminded them all to be kind. Thank you Santa!
The children have been working very hard over the past weeks on their performance of the Christmas Nativity. Mrs Gavigan and Mrs McDaid, as always, put together a great show, with the assistance of the whole school staff. A great turnout of family members came along for both shows, finishing with our annual Christmas Hampers Draw organised by the Parents Association. A great end to 2023 – well done everyone!!
The pupils of 3rd & 4th Classes were constructing boats using different materials during Science Week 2023.
As is normal practice every Friday, the whole school took part in GAA training with Donie from St. Naul’s GAA. This week, however, things took a spooky turn as all sorts of characters turned up to train! Our thanks as always to Donie for being such a good sport!
3rd & 4th Classes were learning about electricity and magnets. They completed a series of experiments – some of which were hair raising!!
